- The Foundation does not assist the following types of matters except with the approval of the Director of Branch Office:
- Criminal matters
(A) representation during trial (for publicly-prosecuted crimes);
(B) filing criminal charges in court;
(C) reviewing prosecutors’ decisions and if applicable representation during the subsequent trial;
(D) representation in re-trials and special appeals;
(E) prosecuting matters concerning shares, securities, financial derivatives, real property,bond, investment funds and other investment activities;
(F) prosecuting matters concerning rights in trademarks.
- Civil matters
(A) arbitration
(B) election litigation
(C) small claims
(D) matters for re-trial
(E) Matters concerning shares, securities, financial derivatives, real property, bond,investment funds and other investment activities.
- Administrative matters
(A)Re-trials.
(B)Matters concerning shares, securities, financial derivatives, real property, bond,investment funds and other investment activities.
(C)Matters concerning rights in trademarks and patents.
(D)Summary proceedings.
- Cases where the applicant has already received 3 grants of legal aid in the same year.
- The Foundation does not grant legal aid to corporations and organizations.
- Matters concerning trademarks or patents.
