Biography

I graduated the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1991 and have served the clients and stakeholders of the Office of the Wisconsin Public Defender in various capacities: Staff Attorney; Manager; Director of Training and Development; General Counsel; and Attorney for Special Projects.
I am a past president and current member of local bar associations and a member of various national organizations: the American Bar Association; National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; and National Legal Aid and Defenders Association.  I co-authored the Wisconsin Juvenile Law Handbook for the State Bar of Wisconsin and published articles in the Cornerstone, a publication of the National Legal Aid and Defenders Association, and the Wisconsin Lawyer, the publication of the State Bar of Wisconsin. 
I have been on faculty at various advocacy and management programs for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, National Legal Aid and Defenders Association, the SPD and the University of Wisconsin Law School. I am an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School, teaching Privacy Law in the Information Age.  

I am a graduate of the Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government.
